Some very exciting news concerning the next generation of Land Rover Discovery model has been revealed this week and it is something that has caught the attention of many potential car buyers around the world. First off the vehicle in question is the Discovery 5 model which will go on sale from next year and another key factor to bear in mind is the Jaguar Land Rover, Special Vehicle Operations unit. Did you work it out?. Well the big news is that a new 'SVO' version of the Discovery 5 has this week been confirmed for a launch around twelve months after the standard model. Jaguar Land Rover have still not confirmed what exact specifications are set to come along with the new model but we do expect that it will be much more powerful and will carry some unique gadgets, especially considering some of the new technology that the firm have been creating as of late.
The new 'Special Vehicle Operations' unit was originally launched just under one year ago and has had much success over the duration of this twelve month period. The aim of the unit is to make big improvements on the engineering of some vehicles and the design and looks of them. The Range Rover Sport SVR is just one of the vehicles which has found fame in the division by making headlines all year round. So when we look at the potential of the new Discovery being seen in the same light, this would definitely answer our question today. This could very well prove to be one of the biggest and best moves that the brand have made with the range after a twenty six year history with the car. Exciting times ahead indeed.
It would be expected that the Discovery in 'SVO' form would carry a significant improvement on power and potentially stability also aswell as a few minor tweaks. In the past, we have seen the Discovery go up against many four by four models in the same segment such as the X3 from BMW and the Audi Q5. An 'SVO' model however could certainly give the car that bigger edge to get it out in front of its competitors though. It will be interesting to see just what improvements Jaguar Land Rover are going to bring to the Discovery when it becomes available in this form.
