Honda confirm details on new CR-V SUV in 2021

Honda confirm the CR-V only available in hybrid form from 2021

Honda has confirmed that its' CR-V SUV model will only be available in a hybrid format from 2021. This move is simply a continuation from the Japanese manufacturer to provide a fully electric range. Honda CR-V

There are several new model revisions expected with the launch. Every new CR-V will bear the e:HEV badging, for example.

Other styling changes include seeing a silver finish added to areas on the centre console, door trims and dashboard on all levels. All models will see a new 18-inch alloy wheel addition also. Privacy glass is now available on SE trim models and above.

However, one potential disappointment is the loss of a seven-seat model option.

Underneath the bonnet, the new CR-V retains the Honda i-MMD hybrid powertrain, based on dual electric motors. The electric motors are complemented by an Atkinson-style petrol engine and a fixed-gear transmission.

The all-important WLTP combined cycle figures show emissions of 151 g/km and 42.2 mpg for front-wheel-drive models. All-wheel versions provide 161 g/km and 39.2 mpg.

The Honda CR-V e:HEV will be available in UK showrooms from January 2021. Prices will start from £30,180.
