The RC-F from Toyota luxury brand Lexus has not been on sale very long, in fact its less than a year. Already however the brand are looking to expand their line up by introducing the world to and putting on sale the all new Carbon edition version of the same car. Lexus put the new car on sale this month and have stated that customers who already own the RC-F can choose to buy the new carbon parts as an optional extra. However if the car appeals to you and you're not already an owner, you can buy the new Carbon edition model as a complete car. Many features remain the same for the Carbon edition such as the engine and its figures it gives out as far as the vehicles performance is concerned. As you may have guessed by the name, carbon fibre fittings are what makes this special edition model just that.
So one of the things that the new carbon fittings help to achieve is more lightweight materials on the car which have now made the RC-F ten kilograms lighter. These new carbon fibre materials are made entirely for the bonnet, the cars spoiler and the roof of the RC-F. The overall stability and agility of the car is also improved with a new differential system included with the special edition model which helps be more agile when it comes to the torque developed by the car.
Changes inside of the car are very minimal with one of the only big features being the sound system which now comes with seventeen speakers rather than the ten which come along with the standard RC-F. Other great features from the standard model do however remain such as the climate control setup,Alcantara made seating, automatic windscreen wipers and the heated seating.
With the carbon fibre fittings and new stereo system being included, you can expect a significant boost in prices for the car and that is what Lexus bring. If you already own the RC-F, a further eight thousand is required to upgrade with over three thousand of this price making up for the torque vectoring system. However a one of purchase on the entire car for new customers will cost £67,995.
The RC-F is one of the hottest vehicles in terms of power and equipment that the brand offer and when we look at what league the car is in, we categorise the likes of the Porsche 911 and the M4 aswell as other M models from BMW in the same division. These new carbon fittings could however be what attracts customers to the Lexus car over the competition.
