The life and success of the Subaru Impreza

The chances are if you a motor racing fan then you would of seen the Subaru Impreza taking names in the World Rally Championship over the years. The car also features in plenty of movies and shows on television were more often than not, you can see the car participating in street racing usually alongside the likes of the Mitsubishi Evo or the Mazda 3. The Impreza has a long standing history and has established itself as one of the gems in Subaru's success. Over the years we have seen the car go under many transformations with the vehicle now being known as the WRX. At first the name WRX was brought in to represent more power focused versions of the car but now we find the actual car going under the same name. Whether you know it as the Impreza or the WRX Subaru have certainly designed a vehicle here that has withstood the tests of time and still proves to be a tough competitor to this day.

A brief background of the Subaru Impreza/WRX

The car has been going strong on the market ever since it was first produced back in 1992. Here we are twenty three years later and who is going to argue with the success that the car has achieved. Offered in four different generations and with seven different forms the WRX offers a little something for everyone but if you are looking more towards a good strong runner and some excitement the Impreza is definitely a step in the right direction. The latest version of this car to be put on sale came as a part of the fourth generation which launched in 2011 and a new version under the WRX name for 2015 has also been introduced. Carrying four different paint work guises, the Impreza has many customisable highlights. White, Black, metallic Grey and of course the classic Blue are all options for the new model. It also packs in some of the latest in in car technology. Dual zone climate control,a multi functioning centre console, leather fittings and Alcantara leather seating are just highlights of how far the range has come over the years.

A turbocharged petrol engine is included underneath the bonnet and Subaru also offer Brembo brakes as completely standard. The Impreza certainly is a vehicle that we have been in love with for a while and it remains a strong car to this day.

Is the latest WRX a threat and how much does it cost?

When we look at the kind of competition that the new model goes up against, we can think of cars such in the BMW M range and models such as the Honda Civic Type R. Does it challenge them though?. In our opinion, absolutely. Especially as far as pricing is concerned too with the car being available from a singular price of £28,995.
