Upgrades for the BMW i8-Rolls Royce Dawn spied-the Renault Alpine at Le Mans

This week, reports suggest that the BMW brand could very well be in the middle of working on a more performance-based version of their i8 model, which could go on sale as early as next year.

The BMW i8 has given the brand that big boost when it comes to shifting sales of supercars and by offering performance models alongside the likes of their M Sports lineup. If this is the case, it can be thought BMW may add a larger engine into the mix to pair up with the electric motor and battery, which means a range increase on electric power could also be on the agenda.

A new engine fitting would boost control of the car, but everything is very much up in the air at the moment as to what other changes or performance rates could be added in for the new vehicle. However, we would expect it to make use of carbon fibre lightweight material which would see the i8 perform much more efficiently than what it already does and even increase the overall agility of the vehicle.

The brand behind the supercar is yet to comment on the news, but if it is the case, we would expect an announcement to be late this year, potentially in Frankfurt this September.  BMW i8

The Alpine making its way to Le Mans

It is expected to be a big week for sports cars, in general, this week, first with the Le Mans twenty-four-hour race kicking off this weekend and secondly with the expectation of Ford revealing their new GT model potently this Friday.

Another car which is confirmed to debut this weekend in Le Mans is the new Alpine sports car which will return thanks to the hands of Renault. This new model to debut will not be the final production model but is expected to be the closest thing to it for when the car officially returns next year.

Renault is keeping very quiet about the specifications in the new model, but we already have a brief idea of what the car will look like. Styling includes a metallic Blue finish with triangular-shaped pipes at the back and large air intake designs.

We would expect to hear more on the cars engine range before it officially returns on the road and other specifications, with the model being revealed this weekend still coming in concept form.

Next years Rolls Royce 'Dawn' is out in the open.

Next year Rolls Royce will launch a soft-top convertible version of their Wraith model, which is believed to be operating under the badge of the 'Dawn'.

This week, the new model has been spotted wearing a disguise for the first time before its launch in 2016. Images uploaded to the internet show that the car will carry pretty much identical exterior styling to the standard Wraith model, with the big noticeable difference being the soft-top roof.

The same engine, a V12 6.6 litre, twin-turbocharged setup, will also remain the same underneath the car's bonnet. The new 'Dawn' will go on sale from next year and is expected to come along with a price tag of around the £250,000 area.
